What is an Address Bar?

The address bar is where you enter a website's URL (Uniform Resource Locator) or address. It is located usually at the very top of a browser window. In the example below, we show you the address bar in the Internet Explorer browser.

Address bars appear slightly different between browsers but they all do the same thing. You either type a website's address into the address bar and then hit the 'Go' or 'arrow' button and the browswer will get the website for you or, if you found a website via a web search and clicked on a link to view the website, the website's address will appear in the address bar.
